Seen and Heard: Asian-American Identity in Filmmaking and Storytelling
Catch this live Q&A on July 25th at 2pm PT / 5pm ET (tentative) with filmmakers and creators in the Asian-American entertainment industry, featuring Taiwanese-American actor Kenny Leu, who has developed a reputation for playing real people, reflecting mostly unknown authentic Asian stories. He played heroic school teacher Zue Xuesan in Midway (2019), Sergeant Eddie Chen in The Long Road Home (2017), and the indie drama ‘A Shot Through The Wall’ (2020) as a Chinese rookie police officer who accidentally kills a black man.
With the support from the Ministry of Culture, Taiwan (R.O.C) and Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles, the 4th Annual Taiwanese American Film Festival (TAFF) is held by Taiwanese American Professionals - Los Angeles (TAP-LA) in October, featured with two outreach events and two workshops. This themed online talk is the second outreach event of the year in collaboration with TAP-DC. Koo Foundation merged and developed the Taipei Congress programs to TaiwanEYE Online Showcase.
