
With the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles is collaborating with the San Diego Asian Film Festival (SDAFF) to present the "Taiwan Film Showcase" program from November 8 to 15. Eight feature films and three short films will be screened, setting a new record for the number of films ever selected and demonstrating the recent global appeal of Taiwanese films.

Eight feature films and three short films will be screened, setting a new record for the number of films ever selected and demonstrating the recent global appeal of Taiwanese films.
Other featured films, such as "The Waves Will Carry Us," "Family Matters," "Blind Love," and "Haunted Mountains: The Yellow Taboo," cover themes of family life, social issues, and sci-fi thrillers. Documentary features include "Decathlon: The CK Yang & Rafer Johnson Story," which chronicles the friendship between Taiwan and the United States in sports, and director Tsai Ming-Liang's latest handmade film "Back Home." In addition, a digitally restored version of Pai Ching-Jui's classic work "Accidental Trio" will also be screened. Short films, including "A Brighter Summer Day for The Lady Avenger," "Dancing in the Rain," and "Surfing Taiwan: Past, Present, and Future," shows a diverse selection of narrative, documentary, and animation.
SDAFF is one of the largest Asian film festivals on the West Coast. With the full-fledged efforts of the industry, Taiwanese films have gradually entered the global market these years.
