Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles partners with AWFF to host a special screening of “American Girl” on June 5, 2022. “American Girl” was selected by Golden Horse FPP 2018 and Film Independent Fast Track Program. It has won numerous awards, including five Golden Horse Awards at the 58th Golden Horse Awards. Watch the 1960s Taiwanese-Language Film Series Virtual Screening at LACMA titled “Dreaming Impossible Dreams” from May 18 to May 31, 2022! Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles, partnering with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), presents a virtual Taiwanese-language Film Series that screen 6 restored black and white “taiyupian” from Taiwan’s lost commercial film period of the 1950s-1960s, includes “The Husband's Secret” (丈夫的秘密), “Fantasy of the Deer Warrior” (大俠梅花鹿), “Little Heroes vs. Two Masked Villains” (雙雄大鬥雙假面), “Romance at Lungshan Temple”(龍山寺之戀), “The Best Secret Agent” (天字第一號) and “Six Suspects” (六個嫌疑犯). The Aleph Festival of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) focuses on the fusion of arts and science. With its theme “The Frontiers of the Environment” in 2022, Taiwan Academy of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles partners with National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) to present the programs “After sea-level rise, I…” and “Whisper of Trees” from May 19 to May 29, 2022. Both programs indicate the coexistence relationship between human beings and nature. The in-person screening event of these two programs will take place at National Pavilion of Biodiversity and the Julio Bracho cinema.
