We are pleased to invite you to the Libby Leshgold Gallery at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, Vancouver, for the exhibition, vertigo of swallows in my ear, featuring the interdisciplinary work of Taiwanese artist Hong-Kai Wang. Running from February 19 to April 19, 2026, this exhibition expands on Wang’s recent publication, Our Words Don’t Suit Prophecies Anymore. Inspired by the tradition of Taiwanese moral ballad booklets, this exhibition explores the ethics of listening and the politics of missing knowledge. Through a compelling installation and a series of public events, Wang examines how listening can be an embodied, relational practice that interweaves histories of labor and memory. The exhibition is part of a collaborative project with the Taichung Art Museum, offering a unique space to encounter emergent time-spaces and critical modes of attention.
