Presented by the Guam Visitors Bureau, the Guam Micronesia Island Fair is an event showcasing the unique cultural heritage of the islands of Micronesia. This year in early June, several indigenous art teams, including Amis Polyphonic Youth Band, “Wind Voyagers” of Changbin, and Makotaay Eco Art Village, will participate in the Fair. Organized by the National Museum of Prehistory (Taiwan) and the National Taitung University, Taiwan’s presence aims to show the indigenous resilience in their cultural performances, creations, and practices, focusing on navigation, tattoo, and ecological knowledge, to promote art exchange with the Pacific Islands under the common Austronesian root. The Taipei Broadcasting Station’s program Thousands Miles Talks About Music has been honored with the Gracie Award in the Non-English, Non-Commercial, National Radio category at the 50th Gracie Awards, presented by the Alliance for Women in Media (AWM). This marks the second consecutive year that Taipei Broadcasting Station has received this recognition, following last year’s win for Sounds of Taipei. The award affirms Taiwan’s growing international visibility in the field of cultural and artistic broadcasting.

Hosted by acclaimed musician and four-time Golden Bell Award winner Professor Mali Liu, Thousands Miles Talks About Music presents the stories of women musicians through in-depth interviews, curated music features, real-time interpretation, and short-form radio dramas. The award-winning episode, Music is Weapon, took seven months to produce and featured interviews with eight Ukrainian female composers. By reflecting on themes of art, war, and peace, the program was highly praised by international judges for its emotional depth and narrative power.

The 2025 Gracie Awards ceremony will be held on May 20 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. Deputy Director Li Pei-Wei and Professor Mali Liu will represent the station at the awards gala.

To mark this occasion, the Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles, under the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, will host a press reception on May 21, inviting media professionals and cultural leaders to celebrate Taiwan’s achievement on the global stage.
