Horse Dance Theater to Present “FreeSteps – NiNi” at Episode 5 of  the Webinar Series “The Next Stage”

Due to the pandemic, many performing art artists turned to explore the possibilities in virtual space, site-specific creations and outdoor settings. The Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles partnered with Western Arts Alliance to present a webinar “Performance Beyond the Proscenium” which will be held at 4 PM PDT on Nov 22, 2021. Horse Dance Theater from Taiwan will be invited to share their outdoor production “FreeSteps – NiNi” with speakers Azul Amaral, Christopher Rountree and brooke smiley. This event will be held through Zoom while livestreaming on WAA’s YouTube channel and Facebook. “Spotlight on Taiwan” Launched at the 2021 Hawaii International Film Festival

With the support from Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture, Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles has launched “Spotlight on Taiwan” at the Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF) from November 4-28, 2021. This program comprises 3 feature films Moneyboys, Born to be Human, and Listen Before You Sing, a documentary Sounds of Taiwan: A Symphony by Bao Yuankai and an episodic series The Magician on the Skywalk.

Online exhibition of the 12th Golden Comic Awards Available from now until Nov. 30

The Golden Comic Awards (GCA), Taiwan's highest award for the comic arts, were held virtually for the first time ever, with the grand prize awarded to artist Xiaodao (小島) for her work "Crouching Lion in a Bookstore" (獅子藏匿的書屋). Meanwhile, the Best New Talent award went to authors Yu Pei-yun (游珮芸) and Zhou Jian-xin (周見信) for their work "Son of Formosa" (來自清水的孩子).
