|
From October 10th 2021 to January 9th 2022, the exhibition “Witch Hunt” at the Hammer Museum features 15 works of 16 women artists. It has been widely praised in the press as “compelling” and “powerful.” The only Taiwanese artist Shu Lea Cheang is invited to display her installation “UKI Virus Rising.” The virus is the exploratory subject of Shu Lea Cheang’s works since the 2000s. As a source of contagion, the virus is associated with invasion and also inscribed with the potentiality to propagate, mobilize, and resist. The Los Angeles Times’ Pulitzer Prize-winning critic Christopher Knight wrote a strong review of the exhibition and describes Shu Lea Cheang’s work as “exemplary” and “gripping.” For more information, please visit https://la.us.taiwan.culture.tw/News_Content.aspx?n=1001&s=24858. https://hammer.ucla.edu/exhibitions/2021/witch-hunt.
