"Tsai Ming-liang: An American Cinematheque Retrospective" presented fourteen films to resounding audiences starting on July 31 and continuing through August 17 at the Egyptian Theatre, Aero Theatre, and Los Feliz Theatre in Los Angeles. Tsai Ming Liang and Tsai's all-star Lee Kang Shang, who attended the Q&A sessions, received standing ovations. Tsai was touched by the audience and expressed his appreciation to the Los Angeles audience for understanding and enjoying his work. He said that all of his films capture and reflect everyday life. You could only view all of his movies on a big screen, not on the streaming platform. How wonderful it was to finally meet Tsai Ming-liang in person in Los Angeles.
