Dear Friends,

In 2022, we are very grateful to have a year where it felt close to being back “normal.” Thanks to your warm friendship and support, Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles has presented various events of performance, exhibition, and film screening in this time. It has definitely been a wonderful year for us. We will continue to build on our mission to promote Taiwanese art and culture via diverse platforms in 2023.

It seems that Christmas time is here, and it is time to bring in the New Year. May happiness follow you everywhere just like we do. Wishing you all the blessings of a beautiful holiday season.

Best Regards
Taiwan Academy in LA

The Taiwan Academy of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles and Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), in partnership with the Asian World Film Festival (AWFF), held a successful Taiwan Film Day—a special screening of Goddamned Asura followed by a Q&A with director Lou Yi-An and a reception on November 10th, 2022.

The theater was packed with up to 153 invited people. Professionals from the Hollywood film industry, such as Marc Zorn (Content Protection and Production Security at Marvel Studios), Eli Steiger (Academy Member and Cinematographer for The Day After Tomorrow and Godzilla), Steven Shaw (Academy Member, ASC Member, and Cinematographer for E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial), and others, took part in the screening and reception. Additionally, we collaborated with Barco to display this movie at Taiwan Film Day in HDR format using a more advanced theater projector.
