2021 AIR Taipei Open Call

  • Date:2020-04-15

Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Taipei is operated by the Taipei∣Treasure Hill Artist Village. The program aligns with international artist-in-residence sites, provides artists from both Taiwan and abroad with residence opportunities and forms an open platform that also acts as a web of solid, international connections, drawing in diverse communities in various disciplines to exchange and broaden each other’s perspectives.

2021 AIR Taipei Open Call provides two different and unique artist-in-residence sites for local and international artists to apply: the Taipei Artist Village located at the center of Taipei City and the Treasure Hill Artist Village, a historical architectural community located by the Gongguan waterside.

Additionally, for supporting the domestic artists to connect with the global art scenes, AIR Taipei has collaborated with its international partner institutions in providing flight ticket, accommodation, studio space and allowance in the International Exchange Program. In 2021, AIR Taipei will continue its partnership with Tokyo Arts and Space, in Japan, MMCA Residency Goyang and Openspace Bae in Korea, Grey Projects in Singapore, the City of Munich in Germany (DAC+AOA+GI), the Silpakorn University in Thailand, the Center for Chinese Contemporary Art in the UK and the le lieu unique Centre for Contemporary Culture in France. There are also two new programs joining - film writing based residency conducted by the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and Ciné Tapis Rouge in Canada, and research led residency in the UK supported by Platform Asia and Arts Catalyst. Furthermore, collaborated with the 2021 Art Next Expo in HK, one Taiwanese artist will be selected to exhibit in the Expo, gaining first-hand experience in the dynamic art market.
