To provide Californian audiences with a taste of Taiwan, the Taiwan Academy outpost in Los Angeles' Westwood community will be hosting free movie nights from Jan. 8 through Feb. 26.
The 8 films selected for ushering in the New Year are: "Zone Pro Site: The Moveable Feast,” "Night Market Hero,” "Café. Waiting. Love,” "Au Revoir Taipei,” "The Soul of Bread,” "27℃ Loaf Rocks,” "Flying Dragon, Dancing Phoenix,” and "Joyful Reunion.”
In true Taiwanese tradition, five of the 8 films evokethe nation's feeding habits and culinary breakthroughs, while two bring to life urban romance in Taipei city. The organizers have also chose "Flying Dragon, Dancing Phoenix” for its modern take on traditional Taiwanese opera.
The succession of films will be screened every Thursday night at 7pm at 1137 Westwood Blvd., Los Angeles, CA.
